Types of Health Screening

October 6, 2011 at 8:24 am | Blog | No comment

Preparation

  1. No food or drinks for at least 8 hours prior to your examination. However you may continue with any medication prescribed by your doctor.
    *     IMPORTANT : If you are taking medication for Diabetes, DO NOT take your medicines while you are fasting.
  2. If possible, please bring a small amount of your fresh stool in a stool container. The stool container is available at the In-House Clinic.
  3. For ladies undergoing a Pelvis Ultrasound examination, do not empty the bladder until the examination is completed.
  4. For Treadmill test, you may wish to bring along your own ‘T’ shirt, shorts, socks, track shoes and a hand towel.

Objectives

The Comprehensive Executive Health Screening Programmes at our clinics are designed to:

  • give you an assessment of how your body is coping with the stress of modern living.
  • pick up and if necessary investigate further, any signs of disease of any particular organ system.
  • advise you on changes in lifestyles and on dietary habit should this be necessary

Procedure

The Executive Health Screening begins with a complete history taking and thorough physical examination by our doctor. You will then have a series of blood, urine, stool tests and chest X-ray and abdomen X-ray. For ladies, a PAP Smear test is optional, you will then have an exercise Electrocardiogram (ECG) or Treadmill conducted by our Consultant Cardiologist. All these will usually take about 2 to 3 hours. A week later, your medical report with the doctor’s assessment of the overall interpretation of results will be ready. This includes recommendations, counselling with respect to choice of diet; changes of lifestyle and if necessary, appropriate medical treatment.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I UNDERGO THIS PROGRAMME?
Good health is important for everyone and it would be wise to have regular checkups annually
